More cards!

Hey everyone,

First of all, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2013 together with family and friends.

I'm having a Christmas-break for the moment together with kids and husband.  That's great, because we usually have such busy lives that it feels like we don't spend much time together.  My sister in law came with a surprise. They've rented a cottage for 2 weeks in Ieper and they've invited us to spend some time together with them.  So we're leaving on friday and spend new year's eve over there also. We have a few activities on our schedule, go bowling, iceskating,.. .  I just need to make sure that I have some paper and stamps with me for cards that I want to make LOL!

Ok, but here are some more Xmas-cards that I made:

A birthday card for my brother:

The addressbook that I made as a present for my mother in law:

I still had some vintage paterened paper and used it to cover the cardboard for the adressbook.  I've used the embellishments that came with the paper and completed it with a flower, some lace ribbon and stick on pearls.

And last but not least, my LO for the CSC #04 from Creanijn:

I used pink cardstock an 1 sheet of patterened paper from BasicGrey. I've added some glitterglue and tried to doodle (not from a stencil but freehand) and for a first timer it's not that bad. Also added 2 butterflies.  I used a chipboard butterfly and drew on a sheet of patterened paper and cut it out.
About the title: Pretty in Pink.  On the left is my daughter and on the right is her niece Fran, they were in their 'I'm wearing nothing but pink' period, so this would make a fantastic title!

Ok, everyone, that's it for now, I'll see you back after the holidays. Enjoy!

Next challenge and going on!

Hey everyone,

First things first: Yeeha, I've won the challenge SCS #3 from Creanijn.  I was really exited about that, walking on clowds, ....  .  This is an extra kick to keep doing what I like to do.

So here's my entry for the challenge CKC from Creanijn.  I had empty card lying arround and one of those matched the paper with dots I wanted to use.  The paper is from a X-mascollection (can't remember which one).  I have this stamp from an owl with his hat and scarf on, so very lovely, and I colored it with X-mascolors. I used some burgundyred ribbon and some green buttons.

I know I don't post as often as I did in the beginning but I haven't been lazy.  I was working on invitations for my parents in law weddinganniversary.  And I've made a lot of progress.

2 new LO to show.

1: Going to the beach and having fun.  I used blue and white cardstock and 1 sheet of patterend paper from SeaGlass from KC & Company.  From that leftover I've cut 2 flowers that I've put on each other with 3D-tape and added glitterglue for the flowerstamps.

2: A day out in the town with grandpa and grandma.  I used white cardstock and 1 sheet of patterend paper.  I've cut 1 big cirkle and lots of smaller cirkles out of the patterened paper.  I positionned the pictures so they would fit inside the big cirkle.  The small cirkles are embellishments, but also 2 flowers.

Some more X-mascards:

And last but not least, I'm trying to make an adressbook.  I found this template for adressinformation somewhere on the internet and I thought this would make a nice X-maspresent for my mother in law.  I know she appreciates those kind of things.  The template is about 20.5x20.5 cm so I've cut cardboard in squares of 21x21cm.  I've covered them with patterened paper from the ... collection.  I've printed the template on thicker paper so that's it's nice and firm to write on.  At the Pipoosstore in Sint-Niklaas I've bought clickrings so more pages can be added if necessary.  And then as last thing to do, add embellishments and gift wrap it :-) . Pictures follow.

See you next time

New challenge

Hi everyone,

In one of my earlier post I mentionned that I printed a lot of older picturs.  Well, I came along some pictures that I took a few years back at the Highland Games at the Kasteel van Ooidonk in the Deinze area.  That was a fun day out. There were players for the highland games, you could taste typical Schottish food and drinks, enjoy celtic dancing, a wild bird show, ....

I thought this would do perfectly for that double LO-challenge.  Several weeks ago, I ordered some paper and Vicky from Creanijn was so nice to add a little treat.  There was a package of yellow cardstock and some patterened paper from BasicGrey in it and this was the perfect opportunity to use it.

Baking time.

Hi everyone,

this friday it's my birthday, already 34! And since I do have to go to work, I want to bring a treat.  I decided to bake all American chocolate chip cookies, a pie and a breadpudding.

I got the recipe for the chocolate chip cookies from my teamleadster who's american, I've already tried them once and they are GREAT!
The recipies for the pie and breadpudding are classics, no way I would think to change those.

Enjoy....

what about time?

Hi everyone,

I know it's been a while since I last posted something. A working mom doesn't always have as much time as she wants.  And also the gods were against me: pc crashed, my photoprogramme is missing and also a lot to do at work and at home.  But I did make a few scrapLO from older pictures.

This one is from my husband with his godchild at his baptism.  I used white cardstock, 1 sheet of shaped patterened paper and bordeaux cardstock.  I used ribbon of knitted lace and a flower stickerembellishment.  For the title I used stickerletters I bought at the scrapbookexpo from Creanijn.

Here's one from my son's first communion. I used brown and blue cardstock and 1 piece of patterened paper with butterflies on.  I've cut the biggest butterfly in and shoved the picture underneath it. I used sticker letters and chipboard letters. At the bottem I've added a bit of journaling.

This one is from when our niece was born. I used white cardstock and 2# types of patterened paper that I layed out in a particular way. I used stickerembellishments I found in Action and the ribbon is from paper.  I used large stickers for the title and wrote the journaling on the bottom.

I've already printed some old pictures for the next few LO's.

A few cards on their own

Hi everyone,

Since there was a soccermatch on the TV and hubbie wanted to watch, I said: totally fine with me, I'm gonna make a few cards.

I have a bunch of leftovers from earlier scraps and they do well for making cards.  I made 2 cards, one for all purposes and one for a new baby girl.

For my next scrap I wanted to use the pictures from my son's first communion.  I've already got an LO in mind, just need to find the right paper for it.  But finally I did! I used plain brown and blue cardstock and some patterned paper I still had laying arround.  As you can see the patterned paper has butterfly's on it, I cut the big butterfly a little bit so I could slide the photo underneath it.  I used white stickers for the small words and chipboard letters for the big word.  Finally I added a bit of journalling on the bottem of the paper. And here's the result:

Next challenge

Hé, hé, I'm back and on a roll.  This was a real challenge for me, because I don't have a lot of stamps.  But after some brainstorming I thought I could do a winterLO.  There were still pictures waiting from a years back that needed to be cropped.  And that would fit perfectly with one of the stamps I have.

We were in the Netherlands for my niece's birthdayparty. It snowed and froze so much that the pond in the district they live in, was completely frozen.  So we took the sled with us and our iceskates.  You can see much fun they're all having!

The stamps I used are a wintertheme from Nellie Snellen.  I used plain white cardstock as a base and 2 different kinds of blue cardstock for the pictures.  I still had some blue ribbon and some 'winter'themed embellishments.

This is the result:

what a week

It's been a hell of a week!  Tuesday before Scraptastic, I started a new job temporarily.  A lot of listening, learning, doing,...  .  So every day I got home from work, I was so tired, all I could do was some things where my brains were not involved.  Zapping on the tv, playing simple games at the computer and go to bed really early!

But somehow, I managed to make a few X-mas-cards for my grandma.  So they're a bit more classic, but that's not always a bad thing. A bit of nostalgia!

This weekend I was also working on a mini-scrapbook for my son where all his classpictures are in.  And going through all my stuff I got some inspiration for the LO's.  When I first started I was subscribed to Scrapbooking from A to Z.  Perfect for a starter like me, you got some paper.  Every now and then you got more material and every time there was a lot of explanation what you could do with all those items.

And then you get hooked! :-)

See you next time!
