Hi everyone,
Since there was a soccermatch on the TV and hubbie wanted to watch, I said: totally fine with me, I'm gonna make a few cards.
I have a bunch of leftovers from earlier scraps and they do well for making cards. I made 2 cards, one for all purposes and one for a new baby girl.
For my next scrap I wanted to use the pictures from my son's first communion. I've already got an LO in mind, just need to find the right paper for it. But finally I did! I used plain brown and blue cardstock and some patterned paper I still had laying arround. As you can see the patterned paper has butterfly's on it, I cut the big butterfly a little bit so I could slide the photo underneath it. I used white stickers for the small words and chipboard letters for the big word. Finally I added a bit of journalling on the bottem of the paper. And here's the result:

Next challenge
Hé, hé, I'm back and on a roll. This was a real challenge for me, because I don't have a lot of stamps. But after some brainstorming I thought I could do a winterLO. There were still pictures waiting from a years back that needed to be cropped. And that would fit perfectly with one of the stamps I have.
We were in the Netherlands for my niece's birthdayparty. It snowed and froze so much that the pond in the district they live in, was completely frozen. So we took the sled with us and our iceskates. You can see much fun they're all having!
The stamps I used are a wintertheme from Nellie Snellen. I used plain white cardstock as a base and 2 different kinds of blue cardstock for the pictures. I still had some blue ribbon and some 'winter'themed embellishments.
This is the result:

what a week
It's been a hell of a week! Tuesday before Scraptastic, I started a new job temporarily. A lot of listening, learning, doing,... . So every day I got home from work, I was so tired, all I could do was some things where my brains were not involved. Zapping on the tv, playing simple games at the computer and go to bed really early!
But somehow, I managed to make a few X-mas-cards for my grandma. So they're a bit more classic, but that's not always a bad thing. A bit of nostalgia!
This weekend I was also working on a mini-scrapbook for my son where all his classpictures are in. And going through all my stuff I got some inspiration for the LO's. When I first started I was subscribed to Scrapbooking from A to Z. Perfect for a starter like me, you got some paper. Every now and then you got more material and every time there was a lot of explanation what you could do with all those items.
And then you get hooked! :-)
See you next time!

Scraptastic
The one time there's an expo so close to home, I decided to take a day off and go and see. It wasn't very big (didn't expect it to be) but it was really cosy inside. The stands with all the different stores were very nice to look at and also great to search through.
I did get myself some really nice things from the expo. I got this really (to say it in the words of Astrid Bryan) AMAZING paper from Marjoleine. I can't wait to get this started.
Also bought a new set of floral embossing punches from Nellie Snellen. I tried these out and it was so cool! Even my daughter was really exited. Next time I'll go for the butterflies!
Here's an example off my 1st try with the floralpunches and the leavespunches.
Some X-mascards I already made. My grandmother likes the classic ones so these are for her and her fellow residents at the retirement home.
I didn't forget, I'm still working on my 'Jacobs ladder', but I forgot to buy some organzaribbon. I have to check the webshops!
See you next time!! Kaat
